Hong Kong - Inquiry Team Training
Monday, November 21, 2016 to Wednesday, November 23, 2016
Category: Events

General Information

Inquiry Team Training (ITT) provides three days of intensive modular training on how to respond to child safety reports. This CSPN training is offered to member organizations. Mission agencies and international schools are encouraged to send 2-4 people to the same ITT event.

To attend the ITT section of this training, the following prerequisites must be met:

  • You personally have attended a CSPN orientation session previously,
  • Your agency/organization is a member of the CSPN,
  • You must be approved by your organization’s gatekeeper to attend the ITT,
  • You will attend every ITT session over all three days of the training; no sessions may be missed.

There will be an orientation on Sunday, November 20th, from 7-9 pm for those who have not attended a CSPN orientation before. Orientation will be held at the Courtyard Hotel where many participants will be staying.

November 24-26

CSPN is partnering with the ACSI International Christian Educator Conference (ICEC) to provide a double strand of child safety job-alike sessons. This will include 12 workshops facilitated by CSPN. This biannual conference draws world-class speakers and about 1000 educations from international Christian schools throughout Asia. This conference will also be held at the International Christian School in Hong Kong. Visit the ACSI conference web page to register for this 3 day conference with a child safety track. CSPN members do qualify for the $100 member discount when they register on ACSI's website.

The ITT conference will be held on the campus of the International Christian School of Hong Kong.

ITT Information

November 21-23, 2016

Monday - Wednesday
Tentative Schedule

Inquiry Team Training (ITT) is geared for Missions Organizations and International Christian Schools who: have been approved as members of the Child Safety & Protection Network, have completed or are in the process of drafting their child safety policies, and wish to train a team in the area of organizational response to child abuse reports regarding staff or children within their organization.

Agencies are asked to send a minimum of 2 team members (unless others from the organization have already attended one of the trainings) who have been specifically tasked with conducting internal inquiries for their organization.

Prior to attendance at the Inquiry Team Training, the agency gatekeepers are asked to commit to the following:

  • identify inquiry team members who fit the criteria (sample listed in the Elements of Child Safety p. 36)
  • review together your agency response policies and procedures so that the inquiry team training will build well on them.
  • bring your agency's child safety policies and procedures with you to the training (regardless of where in the process they may be, even if they are in draft form).

If your agency fits this criteria, we would like to invite you to the Child Safety Inquiry Team Training -- November 21-23, 2016. For agencies who have attended a previous CSPN meeting but are sending personnel who haven't, it is strongly recommended that they attend Sunday's sessions, as these days provide your personnel a common foundation regarding the reality of abuse in mission settings, how abuse occurs, and a basis for both prevention and response and to provide information regarding the goals and progress that has been made to date on the Child Safety & Protection Network.
